Asphalt paving projects can be cumbersome and difficult, especially when dealing with multiple tenants. But the work has to be done! We know all too well the long, arduous process of construction projects like this. That’s why, at Bituminous Roadways, we will do everything we can to provide a paving project experience as low stress as possible. Here’s how we do that.
We Provide Thorough Project Evaluations and Estimates
Before starting any paving projects, whether patching, pothole filling, or parking lot reconstructs, BR estimators will come to your site and evaluate the needs of the property. Once the evaluation is complete, an estimate will be sent. BR encourages feedback, so if you receive an estimate and have any questions, we are more than happy to provide answers.
If you received multiple bids and are not sure if you’re looking at an apples-to-apples cost comparison, we are here to help educate you on what to look for. You are making a big commitment to the value of your property; we want to make sure you are comfortable when reviewing estimates.
We Inform You of Project Scheduling as Soon as We Know Details
Numerous factors are considered when scheduling asphalt paving projects, including subcontractors’ availability, weather, project scope, etc. BR relies on our project superintendents to schedule paving projects.
Typically, we know a few weeks in advance when your project has been scheduled. Once this information is known, the project superintendent or foreman will usually reach out to you. In some cases, projects get delayed for reasons outside of our control and we will do our absolute best to keep you, the customer, informed.
We Always Communicate Promptly Regarding Potential Delays
Should any situations arise that may delay or interfere with our projected work or delivery schedule, we’ll reach out promptly to inform you of the circumstances and keep you apprised of what’s going on. Sometimes, weather conditions may necessitate rescheduling certain parts of the project or even project start and/or conclusion dates.
If we need to reschedule any part of your project, you’ll receive a prompt call from the estimator assigned to your project, who will inform you of the changes.
Throughout your project, your estimator is just a call away, so feel free to discuss any questions or concerns that may arise. Our estimators, project superintendents, and crew foreman are in continual communication with one another to ensure we’re able to relay project information to you as promptly and consistently as possible.
We Provide Advance Correspondence Regarding Special Project Needs
At BR, we know prompt and consistent communication from our team is necessary to ensure your project goes as smoothly as possible. In addition to promptly communicating any projected rescheduling needs, we’ll also reach out in advance to let you know about other special needs the project may have, such as:
- Whether/when you’ll need to temporarily shut off irrigation to ensure water doesn’t saturate and weaken the pavement’s subgrade.
- Whether/when you’ll need to reschedule community services, such as lawn or garbage service, if our crews are working in a specific area and would make it difficult or impossible for service crews to reach their destination.
- Whether/when you’ll need to reach out to delivery companies like Amazon, FedEx, etc. to let them know that areas of their delivery route may be inaccessible during certain days or times.
We Have a Foreman On-Site Who Can Answer Pressing Questions
When our crews are working on your project, we’ll always have a project foreman on site who is available to answer any questions you or the property tenants may have. Your project’s estimator or superintendent may also stop by periodically to assess the project’s progress, check in with the foreman, and answer any questions that may arise.
If you have any inquiries or concerns regarding your project, special needs, considerations, or scheduling or delivery timelines, there will always be a knowledgeable professional on-site whom you can speak with. We know asphalt paving, maintenance, and repair project involve a substantial investment. That’s why we aim to provide you with all of the information and peace of mind you need to feel confident in and satisfied with our service.
We Take Precautions to Ensure Your Safety and Ours
While we’re working on your asphalt project, we take measures to not only ensure the safety of our crews but also the safety of anyone who travels through or lives on or near the site.
Before work begins, our crews implement traffic cones, barricades, and caution tape to properly mark the worksite and block it off for your safety and ours. Our crews will also assess whether the area immediately around the worksite or near it requires any traffic control. If it does, we’ll implement the appropriate traffic safety measures before our paving crews arrive and commence work.
