Need to schedule an asphalt installation, maintenance, or repair project this year? Then you’ll want to get on our schedule as early in the year as possible for a few very good reasons. Not only will early scheduling allow you to focus on other important property improvements during the spring, summer, and fall, but it’ll also help you save money.
Perhaps most importantly, getting your project finished early in the year will help ensure your paved surface is properly prepared to withstand Minnesota’s notoriously harsh winter weather. Let’s take a quick look at the advantages of getting your asphalt project scheduled early.
1. The Earlier You Schedule an Asphalt Project, the Earlier It’s Done
Simply put, the earlier you get your asphalt project scheduled, the earlier in the year it’ll be finished. And when you get that project out of the way, you’ll be freed up to budget and plan for any other property improvement projects you need to take care of throughout the year.
If you’re not a fan of juggling multiple property projects at once (who really is?), it’s in your best interest to schedule asphalt services during the spring, ideally in May or June. Since that’s the time of year when temperatures traditionally move into a range feasible for asphalt installation, that’s generally the earliest we can realistically schedule projects.
At Bituminous Roadways, our paving crews are ready to roll as soon as it’s warm enough outside to fire up our local asphalt plants and start mixing materials. So if you’d like to get your project underway as soon as the weather will allow, we’re more than ready to get you on our schedule and get working.
2. Scheduling Asphalt Installation Early Will Qualify You for Early Bird Savings
If you schedule your asphalt installation, maintenance, or repair project early, it’s likely you’ll benefit from early bird savings, due to scheduling, availability and the possibility of rising costs.
3. The Earlier You Schedule, the Less Competition You’ll Have
Lots of folks have a tendency to put things off until the last minute, and building owners and property managers are no exception — at least in our experience, that is. In Minnesota, we all know there are only so many weeks out of the year when it’s warm outside, and those are the weeks when performing asphalt maintenance and repairs is best.
Once the weather gets chilly, cracksealing and sealcoating are no longer possible, and for the most part, cold-weather asphalt installation isn’t a great idea, either. If you’ve spent a few years in our great state, you know that temperatures can drop as early as September or October. That’s why scheduling your project early is in your best interest.
If you tend to be in the put-things-off-until-the-last-minute camp, you may have a tough time getting your project scheduled before outdoor temps plummet and the snow starts to fly. Lots of folks are in that camp with you, and come August, they’re all vying for a few coveted spots on our schedule.
The earlier you pencil in a start date, the less competition you’ll have, and the better your paved surface will fare during the freezing winter months.
