HiMA, or Highly Modified Asphalt, Can Benefit Your Asphalt Projects in Minnesota

Highly Modified Asphalt (HiMA) is a new SBS polymer technology for asphalt paving. The polymer loading is over twice the typical modified asphalt, however it is easily workable and very manageable in the field.

Bituminous Roadways, Inc. has been researching materials and methods to improve pavement durability and service life here in Minnesota. Our search brought us to Kraton Performance Polymers, Inc. Kraton had the right product at the right time for us.

We have applied HiMA technology to public agency and commercial asphalt paving contracts. We believe that this is a technology that will become much more commonplace in coming years and are excited to be on the cutting edge!
