Praise from Bloomington Residents

Last year, we contracted with the City of Bloomington on two large street projects. Three times over the course of the summer the City of Bloomington forwarded letters of thanks written by their residents on the work we did. We’re proud of our employees who elicited such positive responses. This one is our favorite:

Subject: road crew on W 86th Street

I want to direct this email toward the road construction crew who worked on W 86th Street for the last 2 or 3 months. The street is finally completely paved and we are so excited about it being finished.

I want to thank everyone who worked on it, as I had the opportunity to interact with many of them, including the foreman. My daughter is in a wheelchair and we had to give a lot of thought to how we were going to get her to and from our house most days, how the school bus would get to our driveway. For some time there was no pavement or sidewalks, with a big drop down from our driveway to the street.

The workers bent over backwards for us, whether that meant them making spur of the moment ramps out of dirt for us when we asked, or finishing what they needed to do in front of our house by 2:30 pm when her bus brings her home. They were ALWAYS accommodating, and not in a begrudging way either. No eye rolling, sighs, or anything else you might expect from someone who was constantly getting special requests from us.

All of them were so pleasant, kind and helpful to us that I felt like it was necessary to thank them. I wish I could thank them in a more public way because I believe they deserve it. Our life could have been truly horrible with not being able to get our daughter to and from our doorstep. But instead we always knew we could count on them, no matter how last minute, to figure out a way to accommodate us.

Thank you so much!!!! You guys are awesome!!!!!!

Sincerely,

Judy M.
